Dana Rourke, MSW, RSW - Your Safe Space for Healing
Dana Rourke, MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker | Psychotherapist
In our work, I aim to create a judgement-free space where all of you and your experiences are welcome. My approach is trauma-informed, somatic, and mindfulness-based, integrating the body, emotions, and nervous system into the healing process. I also draw from compassion-focused and transpersonal perspectives, while remaining grounded in practical tools you can use in your everyday life. No two sessions are the same because no two people are the same. I follow your lead, moving at your pace, supporting you in building awareness so that you can begin to make choices that feel more aligned, intentional, and freeing.
My work is deeply informed not only by my professional training, but also by my lived experience as a survivor of sexual assault and narcissistic abuse, which has led me to my calling of supporting those who cause harm on their journey of change and growth. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, along with a background in Peace and Conflict Studies focused on the role of masculine stereotypes in cycles of violence. My experience also includes working with Probation and Parole (Randy Scott Clinical Services), restorative justice (Community Justice Initiatives), mediation, conflict resolution, and yoga, all of which continue to influence how I support individuals navigating harm, healing, and reconnection. My combined experience allows me to offer a level of understanding and guidance that is not just theoretical, but deeply felt.
Clients have described me as direct, non-judgmental,, curious, and deeply compassionate. I value authenticity, humour, and meaningful connection, and I believe that healing doesn’t happen in silence or seriousness alone. Whether we are sitting with pain, making sense of your story, making a plan, or celebrating growth, I will meet you with empathy, honesty, and care. You are not your mistakes or the worst things that have happened to you - you are so much more. This work is about moving toward aliveness, wholeness, and authenticity, and it takes courage. You don’t have to do it alone.
With respect and care,
Dana
